Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held a number of meetings within the 4th Meeting of the Ministers in charge of Energy of the Organization of Turkic States in Kyrgyzstan.

In a meeting with Kyrgyzstan's Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibrayev, the two sides exchanged views on the energy issues within bilateral relations, which have risen to the level of strategic partnership. They reviewed issues related to the Action Plan on energy cooperation between the two countries and the Working Group aimed at a broad energy partnership. Renewable energy was assessed as an area with significant prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations in line with modern global challenges. The possibility of Kyrgyzstan joining Azerbaijan's ongoing cooperation with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the initiative to export green energy from Central Asia to Azerbaijan and then to Europe was also considered. The sides exchanged views on cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of hydro and renewable energy, as well as oil and gas. Cooperation issues within Azerbaijan's chairmanship of COP29 were also touched upon.

At the meeting with Ahmet Berat Chonkar, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye, the sides discussed priority issues on the bilateral energy agenda and the development of regional energy projects. It was noted that the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline will be commissioned by the end of the year. Attention was paid to the implementation status of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interconnector project via Nakhchivan, as well as the processes carried out to involve a consulting company in preparing the technical and economic analysis and justification of the project for the development of a green energy zone in Nakhchivan. Satisfaction with cooperation in the field of natural gas was expressed. It was noted that the new intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of natural gas creates prospects for strengthening the role of the Turkic States in energy security by promoting gas supplies from Azerbaijan and third countries to Türkiye and European countries.

During the conversation, issues related to the 4th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum, which is planned to be held in Ankara this year, were also touched upon.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Minister Shahbazov discussed Azerbaijan's cooperation with the organization, especially the role of energy projects in developing relations between Turkic states. It was noted that the Karabakh Declaration, adopted as a result of the informal OTS Summit in Shusha, promotes the development of cooperation in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the project to interconnect the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan (Green Energy Corridor).   The sides also exchanged views on the activities of the Energy Coordination Committee of OTS, the Regional Center for Technology and Green Initiatives.
