Green energy production in the country increased during 8 months

According to operational data for the eight months 2024, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 19235.4 million kWh in January- August.

During 8 months, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 16463.6 million kWh, at HPPs to 2138.4 million kWh, and on other sources to 633.4 million kWh. 37.9 million kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 424.3 million kWh at SPPs, and 171.2 million kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

Thus, the production of electricity on green energy sources for the same period last year (1531.1 million kWh) nearly increased by 1240.7 million kWh and amounted 2771.8 million kWh.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 16975.0 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (14989.0 mln kWh at TPPs, 1986.0 mln kWh at HPPs), 334.5 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (151.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 139.7 mln kWh at HPPs, 43.1 mln kWh at SPP), 28.5 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 1897.4 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

During this period, electricity exports were 858.9 mln kWh while imports were 125.5 mln kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in August 2024 amounted to 2966.3 million kWh. During the month, exports of electricity production amounted to 338.0 million kWh, imports to 13.4 million kWh.
