Gas production and export increased over the eight months
According to operational data for January-August 2024, Azerbaijan produced 19.3 million tons oil (including condensate).
Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 11.1 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 2.8 million tons (condensate) and Absheron for 0.4 million tons. SOCAR's oil output amounted to 5 million tons (including condensate).
The volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 16 million tons during the reporting period. Out of this, consortium accounts for nearly 13.9 million tons, SOCAR for 2.1 million tons.
In January-August of the current year in the country oil refining amounted to about 4.4 million tons.
In August 2024, daily oil production (including condensate) in Azerbaijan amounted to 76045 tons, including 64870 tons crude oil and 11175 tons condensate.
For 8 months, 33 bcm of natural gas was produced in the country. 8.7 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 18.1 bcm from Shah Deniz. Absheron and SOCAR produced 1.1 bcm and 5.1 bcm gas respectively. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 0.8 bcm compared to the relevant period last year.
During this period, gas sales amounted to 16.4 bcm, which was 3.1 % more compared to the same period previous year. 8.4 bcm of gas were sold to Europe, 6.5 bcm to Türkiye, and 1.5 bcm to Georgia. It should be noted that, during this period 3.7 bcm gas was exported to Türkiye through TANAP.
Since its commissioning till 1 September 2024, 643 million tons oil (including condensate) and 452.2 bcm of gas were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 595.8 million tons oil and 225 bcm of gas were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli. About 227.2 bcm of gas and nearly 47.2 million tons of condansate were extracted from Shah Deniz.
Up to now, approximately 641.2 million tons oil (including condensate), about 162 bcm of gas were exported.
