On 3 July, final event on the National Renovation Program in Buildings Sector and Energy Efficiecny Fund of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Technical Assistance Project implemented within Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility (AZTAF) in Azerbaijan, implemented with the support of the European Union, was held.

Speaking at the event with the participation of relevant stakeholders, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department of the Ministry Nargiz Baghirli spoke about the support of the World Bank in the creation of the National Renovation Program and the Energy Efficiency Fund in Azerbaijan. Signing the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and making Nationally Determined Contributions by Azerbaijan, including the creation of net zero emission zones in liberated territories, the announcement of 2024 Green World Solidarity Year by the Order of the Head of State and our chairmanship of COP29 were highlighted as an indicator of our country's active activity against global warming

Peter Michalko, EU Ambassador spoke about the successful cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan and the importance of the implemented projects. The representative of the World Bank Saida Baghirli gave information about the AZTAF program and drew attention to the work done in priority areas and the results achieved within the program.

Other experts delivered detailed information about the work done on drafting the National Renovation Program and the role of relevant government agencies in this field, awareness campaigns, goals and methodology of the roadmap for the implementation of the program, mission and objectives of the Energy Efficiency Fund, energy efficiency principles in buildings, ways to determine and increase energy efficiency, results of energy audits conducted in 10 public buildings within the framework of the project and recommendations on ensuring energy efficiency in buildings, presentations were made on the topic.

At the same time, within the framework of the project, seminars were held for employees of the Ministry on 2 and 4 July, on Energy Efficiency Policy and Programs. Roadmap on national renovation program and Structuring and Analysis of Energy Efficiency Investments in order to increase knowledge and skills.
