Within the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, the Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with TAP Executive Director Luca Skyepatti.

The meeting discussed the work carried out on the first phase of the expansion of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) from 2026 by an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters, the progress of market tests for the next expansion, and the development of regional gas supply infrastructures.

Underlining that TAP meets a significant part of the demand for gas from European countries, including Italy, Luca Skyepatti noted that Azerbaijani gas plays an important role in energy security.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects for the electrification of compressor stations located in Greece and Albania in order to achieve carbon neutrality, as well as the supply of hydrogen and other renewable gases within increasing the throughput capacity of the pipeline.
