Electricity production in the country increased January-February
According to data on electricity for January-February 2022, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2331.2 million kWh in February. In comparison with the same period in 2021, electricity production increased by 138.8 million kWh (6.3 %).
Electricity exports decreased by 0.3 mln kWh compared to the same period 2021, amounting to 9.8 mln kWh. During this period, electricity exports increased by 89.4 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 248.2 mln kWh.
In January-February 2022, electricity production in the country increased by 326.2 million kWh (7.2%) in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 4887.0 million kWh.
During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 313.3 mln kWh reaching to 4677.5 mln kWh, at HPPs increased by 13.9 mln kWh reaching to 154.6 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 1.0 mln kWh reaching to 54.96 mln kWh in comparison with January-February last year. 13.16 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 7.7 mln kWh at SPPs, and 34.1 mln kWh at the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant.
During the year, electricity generation made up 4450.4 million kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (4303.8 million kWh at TPPs, 146.6 mln kWh at HPPs), 53.73 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (39.8 mln kWh at TPPs, 6.8 mln kWh at HPPs, 7.1 mln kWh at SPP), 7.6 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 375.27 million kWh on independent PPs.
Electricity exports increased by 159.6 mln kWh compared to the same period 2021, amounting to 493.5 mln kWh. During this period, electricity imports increased by 0.5 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 20.6 mln kWh.
