The preparatory work for the 6th Ministerial Meeting within “Southern Gas Corridor” Advisory Council to be held in Baku on 28 February and thirteen countries’ participation was confirmed. This meeting of the Advisory Council will be attended by the Deputy Director-General (Energy) of the European Commission Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, and, among countries involved to “Southern Gas Corridor” Project, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natela Turnava, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Italy Alessandra Todde, Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change Gerassimos Tomas and Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Temenujka Petkova.

The USA will be represented by the Kurt Donnelly Deputy Assistant Secretary for the US Energy Diplomacy and the UK by the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson.

At this year’s meeting, Serbia will be represented by the Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antić and Hungary by Deputy Director of Energy and Climate Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Felix Moldovan.

Domagoj Validžić, Assistant Minister for Energy at the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Croatia and Zarko Djuranovic, Head of Gas, Oil and Licensing Department at Energy Regulatory Agency of Montenegro will join the meeting. Adviser to the President of Turkmenistan Yagshigeldi Kakayev and Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment of Romania Niculae Havrilet are also among the participants.

Also, BP, SGC, BOTAŞ, TPAO, TANAP, TAP, SNAM, Fluxys, ICGB AD, Transgaz, SNGN Romgaz SA, UNIPER Global, Bulgargaz EAD, SACE and Plinacro will attend the meeting in full staff.

Among the international financial organizations, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank are expected to participate.

The opening ceremony and remarks at the 6th Ministerial Meeting within “Southern Gas Corridor” Advisory Council will be followed by two plenary sessions. At the first plenary meeting, the reports on the work done in all the segments of “Southern Gas Corridor” Project will be presented. The representatives of the member states of “Southern Gas Corridor” and countries interested in the Project will give a speech at the second plenary session to be moderated by the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov.

It’s planned to hold a press conference on the conclusions of the 6th Ministerial Meeting within “Southern Gas Corridor” Advisory Council.

It should be reminded that the first Ministerial Meeting within “Southern Gas Corridor” Advisory Council was held on 12 February 2015, second Meeting on 29 February 2016, third Meeting on 23 February 2017, fourth Meeting on 15 February 2018 and fifth Meeting on 20 February 2019.
