Board Meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy
The Ministry of Energy held a Board Meeting dedicated to the results of the first half of 2026, chaired by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and attended by representatives of the Ministry’s structural divisions and subordinate institutions.
The Chairman of the Board emphasised that energy efficiency is one of the country’s strategic priorities and highlighted the measures being implemented in this area. The Minister noted that the introduction of the Energy Service Company (ESCO) mechanism to attract private investment in energy efficiency in Azerbaijan, the integration of energy efficiency considerations into the construction of new buildings, and the application of international best practices contribute to achieving better results in this field.
During the meeting, a report was presented on the implementation of tasks arising from the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency. It was noted that the legal framework for the energy performance certification of buildings has been established, while the development of a digital platform for the certification process is nearing completion. The platform will enable the creation of a unified database of building energy performance indicators and improve the efficiency of the certification process.
It was also noted that the institution of energy managers is expanding across the country. To date, 115 energy managers have been appointed nationwide, contributing to the development of a professional capacity in this field. The meeting also highlighted the ongoing large-scale public awareness campaign on energy efficiency. Relevant information and educational materials have reached more than one million people through social media and other communication channels, and efforts in this area are continuing.
In accordance with the agenda, the Energy Minister provided information on public receptions held in the regions during the first six months of the year. It was reported that the review of more than 100 applications had been fully completed, with the issues raised by citizens either resolved or addressed through appropriate explanations.
The meeting also included an update on the implementation status of tasks assigned to the Ministry, and relevant instructions were issued on the matters discussed.
