Romania’s chances of joining Southern Gas Corridor were discussed
The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov received the delegation headed by Niculae Havrilet, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment of Romania visiting our country within the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council. Also the representatives of TRANSGAZ S.A. and ROMGAZ S.A. attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the collaborations with Romania in the trade of crude oil, oil products and petrochemical products were discussed. The opportunities provided by the format of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council towards the development of cooperation in the field of energy was mentioned. The Minister Parviz Shahbazov regarded the recent continuous participation of Romania in the ministerial meeting within the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council as an interest in the project. He noted that the strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania would contribute to the interests of both countries in the field of energy in the future.
Niculae Havrilet, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment of Romania underlined the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor, drawing attention to the interest of his country in participating in this project in the future. He shared his views on the possibility of benefitting the opportunities of BRUA Project and Bulgaria-Romania interconnector in extending the corridor to the Central Europe.
At the meeting, an exchange of opinions was made on the potential cooperation between two countries in the field of energy.
