A presentation of the Road Map was held on the indicator Connection to utilities (power supply network)

The presentation of the road map for 2022-2023 on the implementation of improvements in the relevant field related to the indicator Connection to utilities (power supply network) of the World Bank Group's Favorable Business Environment project was held.

Speaking at the event organized at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Connection to Power Supply Networks Working Group of the Commission for Business Environment and International Ratings Samir Valiyev informed about the measures taken in the field of connection to Power Supply Networks. It was noted that the relevant Road Map, regarding the Connection to Utilities indicator, developed with the participation of the members of the Working Group, and compiled on the basis of the improved diagnostic Matrix by the consulting company involved in the project was approved by the Commission for Business Environment and International Rankings.

It was reported at the event that 21 measures were reflected in 4 sub-indicators, 5 components and 10 sub-components in the directions of the quality of utility service rules, utility service indicators and transparency of services, efficiency of implementation of services in the utility sector, awareness and promotion activities. These measures mainly cover the normative legal framework for connecting to power supply networks, the safety of utilitis and the quality of supply, tariffs and other directions.

Head of the Secretariat of the Commission, Head of the Unit of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vusal Shikhaliyev made a speech on the Favorable Business Environment project of the World Bank and shared his views on the importance of the approved road map and its contribution to the relevant field. Deputy chairman of Azerishig OJSC Ramil Yusifov emphasized the positive impact of the measures envisaged in the document on the quality of service in the field of connection to the power supply network.

Head of Department of the Ministry of energy Rauf Gurbanov made a presentation on the measures and the upcoming tasks envisaged in the road map for the Ministry of Energy and Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry.

Advisor to the Chairman of Azerishig OJSC Farruh Heybatov brought to the attention the work to be done on the road map in the form of a presentation on the implementation of the measures that the organization is responsible for. It was noted the impact of these activities on the correct and efficient organization of connection to power supply networks, and information was given on the electronification of public services for connecting to utilities and increasing online application possibilities.

Then, the meeting participants discussed the upcoming tasks on the New Road Map, and it was considered expedient to take into account the opinions and suggestions during the implementation of the events.

The representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry, the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry, the Ministry of Economy, the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Development Agency, "Innovations Center" LLC under the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerishig OJSC and Azerenergy OJSC, members of the public council under the Ministry of Energy, as well as state and private companies, media representatives participated at the meeting.
