The next Board Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, with the participation of structural units and agencies of the Ministry.

Delivering an opening speech, the chairman of the board noted that in the decrees and orders signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev the main directions of the development of the energy sector were defined and a number of strategic tasks were put forward in accordance with these directions. It was noted that one of the most important conditions for the successful implementation of these tasks, aimed at fundamental reforms in the energy sector, is the development of a legislative framework that meets modern challenges.  Over the past period, the Ministry of Energy has carried out a number of works in this regard and activities in this direction should be continued purposefully. These issues are also planned to be discussed at the board meeting.

Then, according to the agenda, the representative from AERA demonstrated the draft decision of the board on approval of the “Form of act on the result of Technical Service” prepared according to the relevant article of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “on Gas Supply”. A report on the measures taken in connection with drafting act was presented. Questions on issues such as the procedure for applying the act, promotion and communication after its approval were answered. It was decided to approve the act in the form drawn up.

The representative from AREA informed about the implementation status of the issues arising from the application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the “Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Power Generation” and the works done. The issues arising from the relevant decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers were discussed.

Then, reports were made and discussions were held on the issues arising from the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the "Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency".

In conclusion, the Minister Parviz Shahbazov gave relevant instructions on further steps to be taken on the issues discussed and prompt and efficient execution of the tasks set.
