The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with Equinor's Senior Vice President for International Intelligence

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov met with Tore Loseth, Senior Vice President for International Intelligence at Equinor who visited to Azerbaijan within the 26^th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition. Tore Loseth expressed his satisfaction with the participation of Equinor in the “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” block and "Garabagh", "Ashrafi", "Dan Ulduzu", “Aypara” perspective projects and long-term cooperation with Azerbaijan. Along with oil and gas project he also informed about measures to be taken in renewable energy as a new direction of cooperation with "Equinor".

The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov highly appreciated Equinor's activity in Azerbaijan and spoke about opportunities for renewable energy to develop cooperation with the company. The Minister also told about development of renewable energy in the country and the measures taken to stimulate investments in this area. It was noted that the preliminary drafts of the law on the “Use of Renewable Energy Sources in the Generation of Electricity”, a model agreement on the purchase of energy and renewable energy sources to the electric network prepared by an international consulting company were submitted to the ministry. and discussions on those documents are underway.

The sides exchanged discussed the work done and planned within the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February of the current year.
