An event was held at the Ministry of Energy to mark the 6th anniversary of 8 November - Victory Day.

The event began with a minute of silence in honour of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

Addressing the event, Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev described the historic Victory Day, one of the most glorious chapters in Azerbaijan's history and a symbol of our national pride and determination to uphold our statehood, as a celebration of our people's unity, boundless love for the Motherland, fighting spirit, and unwavering resolve. He emphasised that the full restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity had been achieved thanks to the resolute leadership, far-sighted policies, and wise strategy of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev's successful continuation of the statehood strategy established by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the strategic course he had charted to strengthen and develop independent Azerbaijan had enhanced the country's power and enabled the Azerbaijani people to achieve their historic goal of restoring territorial integrity and sovereignty. It was stated that the 44-day Patriotic War demonstrated to the entire world the Azerbaijani people's determination and unwavering resolve to liberate their lands. Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the courageous Azerbaijani Army displayed unparalleled heroism and professionalism, liberating the country's territories from occupation. The liberation of Shusha on 8 November marked the culmination of this historic victory.

The speech also highlighted Victory Day as the beginning of a new stage in the country's development. Attention was drawn to the large-scale reconstruction and development efforts underway in the liberated territories and the implementation of the Great Return Programme. It was noted that Karabakh and East Zangezur are being rebuilt on the basis of modern infrastructure, social facilities, smart city and smart village concepts, and the principles of sustainable development. The energy sector plays a particularly important role in this process. Reliable energy supply is an essential condition for the return of people to their native lands, the establishment of new economic activities, and the sustainable development of the region. It was emphasised that the energy infrastructure being developed in these territories further consolidates the economic and strategic outcomes of Azerbaijan's historic Victory. Every energy facility constructed and every power line installed in these lands reflects Azerbaijan's confidence in its own strength, resources, and future.
