Meeting was held with Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNOOC

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Zhang Chuanjiang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, and it was emphasised that the successful cooperation between the two countries across various fields also creates broad opportunities in the energy sector. The importance of the documents aimed at further strengthening Azerbaijan-China strategic cooperation was highlighted.

The meeting also covered the energy cooperation established between Azerbaijani and Chinese companies, with an exchange of views on opportunities to further develop the existing partnership and implement new joint projects.

CNOOC representatives expressed their interest in participating in energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan. The discussions covered potential projects in the oil and gas sector and the field of green energy, including possible energy projects in the Caspian Sea.
