Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Minister of Energy Dubravka Đedović at the Ministry of Energy.

During the meeting, priority issues on the agenda of Azerbaijan-Serbia energy cooperation were discussed. New opportunities for cooperation in the fields of natural gas, electricity and renewable energy were assessed as part of the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor and the establishment of the green energy corridor between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary. The strategic importance of both corridors for the diversification of energy supplies and energy security of European countries, including Serbia, was emphasized.

It was noted that the construction of an interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria will allow for the export of natural gas from Azerbaijan in the future and that Serbia is interested in long-term cooperation with our country. At the same time, Serbia's opportunities for joining the Black Sea submarine electricity cable project in the future were considered. The importance of continuing energy discussions within the Working Group for the development of energy cooperation between the two countries was noted.

During the conversation, the Minister of Energy Dubravka Đedović was invited to the 9th Ministerial Meeting within the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council to be held in Baku in February 2023.
