Technical Assistance Project to increase renewables share in Azerbaijan’s Electricity System will be implemented

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received a delegation headed by Country Manager for Azerbaijan Sarah Michael.

At the meeting, the project “Technical Assistance to Increase the Share of Renewable Energy in Azerbaijan’s Electricity System”, implemented by the consulting company CESI with the support of the World Bank, was considered, the work on the project, the steps to be taken were discussed.

It should be noted that the main goal of the project is to conduct relevant analyzes and prepare a report in connection with the transfer of electricity to the network, which will be obtained in Azerbaijan from renewable energy sources. In this context, it also provides for the development of an agreed plan for the long-term development of production and the transmission network until 2035.

A preliminary meeting of relevant government agencies and other stakeholders on the project will take place on May 17.
