The next meeting of the Joint Working Group on Dostlug field in the Caspian Sea was held between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan
According to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkmenistan on joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostlug field in the Caspian Sea, the fourth meeting of the Joint Working Group established to draft and agree on the intergovernmental agreement that will regulate the cooperation between the parties on Dostlug field was held in the format of a video conference.
At the meeting, which was co-chaired by Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and Minister of State of Turkmenistan - chairman of the Turkmengaz State ConcernBatir Amanov and attended by members of the Working Group, the sides expressed their satisfaction with the progress in the negotiation process on the Dostlug field and emphasized the importance of the project for both countries. An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the Joint Expert Group operating under the Working Group in the near future.
It should be noted that the Working Group of the Azerbaijani side was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 25, 2021 in order to draft and agree on the intergovernmental agreement between the parties on joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostlug field.
