The second meeting of the working group on Energy between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary has been held.

Co-chair of the meeting, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov has delivered a speech and has shared his thoughts on the current situation of the energy cooperation between two countries. He noted that since the first meeting of the Working Group on Energy, measures have been taken in connection with the exchange of experience and information in the field of investment in the energy field, expansion of relations in the field of marketing of traditional energy carriers, the implementation of the tasks set to explore cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and the information was provided in this direction.

Dora Zombori, Chairman of the Working Group of the Hungarian Government and Ambassador-at-large for energy and climate, said her country paid special attention to the development of energy cooperation with Azerbaijan and praised Azerbaijan's leading role in the successful implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor project.

The current status and possible opportunities for bilateral energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary were discussed at the event, and reports were heard. Within the Southern Gas Corridor, strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries, opportunities for natural gas transportation to Hungary, including LNG and CNG transportation and distribution, activities of the Hungarian MOL Group in Azerbaijan, issues arising from the memorandum signed between the two countries' energy regulators, as well as energy efficiency and cooperation in the field of renewable energy were discussed, and the presentation was made on the renewable energy potential of our country and the projects to be implemented to realize this potential.

At the end, a protocol was signed on the outcomes of the second meeting of the Working Group on Energy. The co-chairs of the meeting Orkhan Zeynalov and Dora Zombori signed the protocol. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Working Group in Hungary.
