Within the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 1st Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and UK Regional Energy Security and Climate Ambassador, David Moran, held a meeting.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the contributions of the Southern Gas Corridor, the next phase of development, as well as the projects implemented by Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energy. An important role of partnership with bp in the development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and UK was underlined. Also, the cooperation between Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) and the Ministry of Energy on the development of green energy and hydrogen capacities up to 12GW aroused interest. Green technologies, energy efficiency and the possibility of cooperation in reducing carbon emissions were considered. 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues arising from the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Great Britain, which is to be held in Baku.
