According to operational data for January-March 2023, Azerbaijan produced 12.2 bcm of natural gas. 3.3 bcm of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 6.7 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz and 2.2 bcm from SOCAR. Gas was transported with an increase of 356 million cm, namely 3 per cent compared to the relevant period of last year.

During this period, gas sales amounted to 6.5 bcm, which was 11.2 % more compared to the same period previous year. During this quarter, 2.9 bcm of gas was sold to Europe, 2.7 bcm to Türkiye, and 0.9 bcm to Georgia. During this period nearly 1.4 bcm gas was exported to Türkiye through TANAP.

Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 April 2023, about 207 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 189 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 133 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.

In the first quarter of 2023, the volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 7.7 million tons. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 4.7 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 1.1 million tons (condensate). SOCAR's oil output amounted to 1.9 million tons (including condensate).

During the reporting period, the volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 6.4 million tons. Out of this consortium accounts for 5.8 million tons, SOCAR for 576 thousand tons.

Since its commissioning till 1 April 2023, more than 613 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 572 million tons of oil were extracted from ACG, while 41 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. Out of this, 611 million tons were transported for export until 1 April 2023.

During January - March 2023, oil refining in the country amounted to 1.7 million tons. Oil refinery has been 140 thousand tons more in comparison with the relevant period of the previous year.
