Expansion of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany was discussed

A meeting was held between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Dirk Lölke, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the importance of the official visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Germany and the Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany, signed in Berlin, was highlighted in terms of further developing bilateral relations. It was noted that the agreements reached during the visit have created new opportunities for expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

The meeting included discussions on the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Germany, Azerbaijan’s renewable energy potential, the strengthening of the electricity grid, and prospects for exporting green energy to Europe through the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor. Mutual interest was expressed in advancing cooperation across all key areas, including energy security, energy transition, oil and gas, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
