Human Rights event was held at the Ministry of Energy

The Ministry of Energy held an event dedicated to human rights and fundamental freedoms as part of the "Human Rights Month", observed from 18 May to 18 June. The event was organized to expand legal awareness activities and to raise public awareness of the achievements made in the protection of human rights, as well as the tasks ahead in this field.

During the event, Khalida Masimova, Deputy Head of Administration at the Ministry, noted that the protection of human rights is one of the priority areas of state policy in Azerbaijan. She emphasized the importance of promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms, ensuring gender equality, strengthening the protection of human rights, and enhancing public awareness efforts in this area. She also highlighted Azerbaijan's accession to a number of international human rights instruments. The observance of the period from 18 May to 18 June as "Human Rights Month" was described as a clear demonstration of the importance attached to this field. In her remarks, she also referred to the work carried out by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to safeguard human rights and fundamental freedoms in Azerbaijan, the reforms he initiated, and his role in establishing the country's legislative framework in this area. It was further noted that the principles of building a state governed by the rule of law established by the National Leader are being successfully continued today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Jahid Mikayilov, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department of the Ministry, spoke about the role of energy efficiency in ensuring human rights. He highlighted the contribution of energy efficiency to improving quality of life, creating a healthy, safe, and comfortable living environment, managing energy costs, and protecting the environment from pollution. He also drew attention to the energy efficiency reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in recent years.

In her presentation, Ilaha Ibadova, an employee of the State Programs and Projects Section, provided comprehensive information on the protection of women's rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan, the national legislative framework and international cooperation in this field, the role and rights of women in society, state policy, public administration, entrepreneurship, the civil service, and other areas, as well as the measures implemented to ensure gender equality.

The event was attended by 21 employees of the Ministry of Energy and its subordinate institutions.
