As part of Baku Energy Week, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, met with Michael Harms, Chairman of the German Eastern Business Association, and representatives of leading German companies.

The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany. The parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in the fields of natural gas, renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydrogen, heat pumps, energy storage systems, and electricity infrastructure.

Azerbaijan's commencement of natural gas supplies to Germany, its growing role in Europe's energy security, and its ongoing energy transition were highly commended. The participants were also briefed on Azerbaijan's renewable energy projects, electricity interconnectors, green energy corridors, and opportunities for exporting electricity to Europe.  Against the backdrop of expanding regional connectivity and Azerbaijan's hydrogen development plans, the parties exchanged views on broadening cooperation with German companies across a range of energy-related fields.
