Within the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held meetings with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar and the Energy Minister of Moldova Dorin Junghietu.

During the meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, the sides expressed satisfaction with the expansion of the strategic energy partnership between the two countries through new projects. The contribution of oil and gas projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and TANAP to energy security was highlighted. The sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening the successful Azerbaijan-Türkiye energy cooperation in the electricity sector. In this context, discussions were held on the implementation of projects envisaging the electricity transmission from Azerbaijan to Türkiye and Europe via Nakhchivan and Georgia, as well as from Central Asia through the Zangezur Corridor.

The recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in Energy Efficiency in Buildings between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye was assessed as a clear indication of the expanding energy relations between the two countries.

During the conversation, Minister Alparslan Bayraktar also confirmed his participation in Baku Energy Week. 

At the meeting with Energy Minister of Moldova Dorin Junghietu, the importance of pipelines in ensuring the stability of gas supply under current energy realities was emphasized. The parties also discussed ongoing reforms in the energy sectors of both countries and assessed opportunities for developing cooperation in various areas of energy. Moldovan Minister Dorin Junghietu confirmed his participation in Baku Energy Week.
