Development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and San Marino was discussed
A meeting was held between Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Pərviz Şahbazov, Minister of Finance and Budget, Transport, and Energy of the Republic of San Marino Marco Gatti and Minister of Labour, Economic Planning, Relations with AASS, Ecological Transition and Technological Innovation Alessandro Bevitori.
During the meeting, it was noted that the high-level political relations between the two countries provide a favorable basis for the development of cooperation in the energy sector. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan acts as a reliable energy partner by exporting oil to 20 countries and natural gas to 16 countries. In addition, Azerbaijan is implementing large-scale renewable energy projects and advancing major infrastructure initiatives aimed at establishing green energy corridors extending to Europe.
The parties reviewed the current situation regarding San Marino’s energy supply and exchanged views on potential cooperation in the fields of natural gas supply, renewable energy, and green transition.
The meeting also touched upon the participation of the San Marino side in events to be held within the Baku Energy Week.
