Energy Minister met with the Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan

A meeting was held between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Houssam-Eldine Reda, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the importance of mutual visits by the heads of state and the agreements reached in advancing bilateral relations was emphasized. It was noted that Egypt is interested in developing large-scale energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. In this context, the signing of a Framework Agreement covering extensive cooperation between SOCAR and EGPC was highly appreciated.

The parties also discussed cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable energy with Elsewedy Electric S.A.E. The prospects for implementing joint projects were considered in the light of the anticipated increase in electricity demand and export potential in Azerbaijan, driven by the future expansion of data centers.

In addition, the Egyptian side was invited to participate with a broad delegation in the events to be held within Baku Energy Week.
