Electricity production increased by 1.2 % in the republic in 10 months

According to operational data for January-October 2023, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 24032.8 million kWh. in comparison with the same period last year, electricity production increased by 278.5 million kWh (1.2%).

During January-October, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 22213.8 million kWh, at HPPs to 1529.3 million kWh, and on other sources to 289.7 million kWh. 49.1 million kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 58.6 million kWh at SPPs, and 182.0 million kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 21674.6 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (20242.1 mln kWh at TPPs, 1432.5 mln kWh at HPPs), 402.6 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (264.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 84.0 mln kWh at HPPs, 53.9 mln kWh at SPP), 37.8 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 1917.8 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

In January-October 2023, the electricity exports amounted to 2357.1 mln kWh, and imports to 190.1 mln kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in October 2023 amounted to 2494.2 million kWh.  During the month, the imports of the electricity production amounted to 10.5 million kWh, exports to 519.4 million kWh.
