In January - July 2023, gas exports increased by 7 percent
According to operational data for January-July 2023, Azerbaijan produced 28.1 bcm of natural gas. 7.5 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 15.4 bcm from Shah Deniz and 0.1 bcm from Absheron. SOCAR produced 5.1 bcm gas during this period. Gas was transported with an increase of 0.9 bcm, namely 3.3 per cent compared to the relevant period of last year.
During this period, gas sales amounted to 13.8 bcm, which was 7 % more compared to the same period previous year. In January - July 2023, 6.6 billion cubic meter of gas was sold to Europe, 5.8 bcm to Türkiye, and 1.4 bcm to Georgia. During this period nearly 3.3 bcm gas was exported to Türkiye through TANAP.
Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 August 2023, about 211 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 198 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 139.9 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.
Azerbaijan produced 17.7 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January - July 2023. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 10.6 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 2.6 million tons (condensate) and Absheron for 40.4 thousand tons. SOCAR's oil output amounted to 4.5 million tons (including condensate).
During the reporting period, the volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 14.9 million tons. Out of this, consortium accounts for nearly 13.2 million tons, SOCAR for 1.7 million tons.
Since its commissioning till 1 August 2023, more than 620.3 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 577.5 million tons of crude oil were extracted from ACG, while about 42.8 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. Till 1 August 2023, more than 618.4 million tons were exported.
During January-July 2023, oil refining in the country amounted to 3.7 million tons.
