In the first half of 2023, electricity production in the republic increased by 2.8 percent

According to operational data for January- June 2023, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 13 907.9 million kWh. In comparison with the same period last year, electricity production increased by 381.2 million kWh (2.8 %) during 5 months.

During 6 months, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 12 826.1 million kWh, at HPPs to 891.0 million kWh, and on other sources to 190.8 million kWh. 31.7 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 32.3 mln kWh at SPPs, and 126.8 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 12 472.4 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (11644.3 mln kWh at TPPs, 828.1 mln kWh at HPPs), 218.6 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (133.5 mln kWh at TPPs, 55.7 mln kWh at HPPs, 29.4 mln kWh at SPP), 24.4 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 1192.5 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

In the first half of 2023, electricity exports was 1265.2 million kWh, imports 137.5 million kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in June this year amounted to 2021.4 million kWh.  During June, the imports of the electricity production amounted to 87.2 million kWh, exports to 11.6 million kWh.
