Working Group established to improve energy supply of Nakhchivan visited the Autonomous Republic

Within the framework of the visit of the Working Group headed by Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov, meetings were held with the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Fuad Najafli, as well as employees of the State Energy and Gas Exploitation services of the Autonomous Republic.

At the meetings, it was noted that the transformation of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic into a green energy zone is one of the goals set by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The current status of electricity and gas supply in Nakhchivan, future goals, increasing sustainability in providing consumers with energy resources, conducting institutional reforms, ensuring the integration of renewable energy sources into the network and other issues were discussed.

Working Group members inspected Julfa Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Plant, Nakhchivan Modular Power Plant, Nakhchivan Gas Compressor Station and Nakhchivan Solar Power Plant, and got acquainted with the operation of the plants.

It should be noted that the Working Group consists of the authorized representatives of the Ali Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ministry of Energy, AERA, AREA, the Ministry of Economy, The State Oil Company, "Azerenergy" OJSC and "Azerishig" OJSC.
