Ministry of Energy holds tree planting action on the occasion of 98th birth anniversary of the National Leader

On May 8, the Ministry of Energy held a tree planting event in the territory of the Gobustan hybrid power plant, dedicated to the 98th birth anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Employees of the Ministry and agencies under the Ministry took part at the event, aimed at attracting public attention and raising awareness in the field of environmental protection, gardening. Within the tree-planting event, trees were planted in the allocated area near the Gobustan hybrid power plant and the adjacent territory was landscaped.

It should be reminded that in accordance with the Order by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated 2 February 2021, "Clean environment and a country of "green growth"" are identified as one of the national priorities of the socio-economic development of our country.

It should be noted that the Gobustan Experimental Polygon and Training Center located in the greening area is one of the world's first hybrid "green energy" projects that combines solar, wind and bioenergy components. The center was commissioned in 2011 with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The center, built on 38 hectares, has wind, solar and bioenergy power plants with a capacity of 2.7 MW, 3 MW and 1 MW, respectively (with a total capacity of 6.7 MW).
