Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov attended the Ministerial Roundtable on "Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development" under the framework of the "Charter of Cooperation" (CoC) between oil producing countries
On September 6, the Ministerial Roundtable on "Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development" under the framework of the "Charter of Cooperation" (CoC) was held between oil producing countries. Nearly 100 participants, including ministers, senior executives and representatives of international organizations, attended the event in videoconference format.
Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov also made a speech at the event, which started with the opening remarks of high officials. In the speech, the information was given about the implementation of more efficient technologies in power generation in our country, expansion of the use of renewable energy, achieving energy efficiency and measures to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. It was emphasized that the achievement of a "clean environment" and the transformation into a "green development" country until 2030 as one of the five national priorities on socio-economic development was an indicator of Azerbaijan's commitment to the energy transition process. Decleration of the our territories liberated from occupation by our historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War as "green energy" zone by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and current development of a relevant concept and master plan were brought to the attention: “Our main goal is to meet the power needs of these areas at the expense of renewable energy sources," Parviz Shahbazov said.
It should be noted that at the event Azerbaijani delegation included the employees from the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
