Minister of Energy meets with Pakistan`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received Bilal Hayee, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Azerbaijan.

Congratulating the ambassador on the commencement of diplomatic activity in our country, wishing him success, the minister noted the strong friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, highly appreciated Pakistan's standing by Azerbaijan and its support for its just struggle during counter-offensive operations against Armenian military aggression, thanked Pakistan for its important political, moral support and firm position in the restoration of the country's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

Ambassador Bilal Hayee, in turn, congratulated the government and people of Azerbaijan on the great victory and said that Pakistan always supports Azerbaijan's fair and just position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The ambassador welcomed the statement signed between the parties on the cessation of military operations and expressed confidence that this document would lead to stability and development in the region.

The sides exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in various fields, reviewed the issues arising from the agreement on energy cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, discussed investment opportunities in the energy sector and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.
