President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto. At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues arising from energy cooperation between the countries, as well as the important role of Azerbaijan in the diversification of European energy supply, in particular gas supply. 
The Minister of Energy said there were favorable opportunities for the expansion of cooperation between the state and private bodies of the two countries, as well as participation of Hungarian companies in the auctions to be held in the field of solar and wind energy in Azerbaijan. An attention was drawn to the activities of Working Group on Energy established between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Government of Hungary and the issues to be discussed in the next meeting to be held in the second half of current year.
Hungarian Minister Peter Szijjarto said that his country's companies were interested in participating in the restoration and construction work in the liberated territories during the period when new realities emerged in the region after the victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War. Noting that the Southern Gas Corridor is of great importance for Hungary in terms of gas sources and diversification of routes, the Minister expressed his interest in expanding the project to Central Europe and stressed the importance of connecting pipelines. 
A number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
