Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov held a number of bilateral meetings in Germany during the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue Conference.

At the meeting with State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany Anja Hajduk, it was noted that the realities related to energy security necessitate the increase in the transmission capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor, and the development of the project is supported within the renewed strategic energy partnership with the European Union. The importance of accelerating the processes related to the expansion of the Corridor by 2027 and strengthening the efforts of stakeholders was emphasized. Azerbaijan's green energy projects to be implemented with foreign investors until 2030 and joint cooperation with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary to transfer wind energy from the Caspian Sea to Europe were considered.

At the meeting with the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Energy Jacob Blitshtein, the sides exchanged views on the development plans of both countries for the production and export of natural gas and green energy to Europe. Priorities for the development of energy cooperation with our country, which has an important position in Israeli oil imports, were discussed. Israeli companies specializing in environmentally friendly energy technologies have been invited to cooperate with Azerbaijan.

Within the event, the Minister of Energy also met with Deputy Minister of Energy of Moldova Carolina Novac. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for energy cooperation between the two countries and the energy dialogue with the EU. 

At the meeting with Vice President of Uniper Michael Hilmer, cooperation in gas supply, energy efficiency, and renewable energy was discussed. Satisfaction was expressed with the existing cooperation relations with the company. It was noted that Uniper, one of the main buyers of Azerbaijani gas until 2045, is interested in expanding the Southern Gas Corridor and increasing gas supplies through this route, as well as in cooperation on green energy and green hydrogen.

Minister Parviz Shahbazov also met with Ariel Porat, Senior Vice President of Siemens Energy. Gas-turbine power plant project with an investment capacity of 500 MW to be built in Yashma and cooperation opportunities in the transmission of green electricity produced in Azerbaijan to Europe were discussed.
