The Minister of Energy received the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger.

Discussions were held on bilateral relations in the field of energy, the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the prospects for expanding the corridor.

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said the Eighth meeting of the Advisory Council was productive and this meeting will be useful for the future development of the Southern Gas Corridor.

During the meeting, the US ambassador noted that natural gas will play an important role in the energy transition, so it is important to encourage investment in natural gas projects. He stressed that Azerbaijan is a reliable energy supplier.

They also exchanged views on renewable energy projects during the conversation. Green energy exports and future hydrogen production opportunities, as well as cooperation with international companies were discussed.
