Azerbaijani-British cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable energy were discussed
Zaur Mammadov, Head of the Administration of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Joel Derbyshire, Director of the International Trade Department of the embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Azerbaijan, and Regional Head of Energy Affairs, held an online meeting.
At the meeting, the Head of Administration of the Ministry of Energy Zaur Mammadov noted that the historic victory and liberation of our occupied lands will not only restore our territorial integrity, but also ensure the security of our energy projects more reliably.
Then, information was given about the reforms in the field of energy in Azerbaijan, transition to the traditional energy, liberal markets, legislative acts in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and the process of drafting the law “On energy” was continued. At the same time, the information was given about the work done in the field of renewable energy, pilot projects in the field of solar and wind energy, issues of international cooperation in the field, renewable energy potential in the country, as well as the prospects of offshore wind energy.
It was also emphasized at the meeting that the liberated regions have high potential for renewable energy sources, especially solar and wind energy. It was noted that it would be appropriate to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in these areas, as well as in the field of offshore wind energy, energy conservation, development of hydrogen energy in Azerbaijan, and the questions addressed from the opposite side were answered.
