The sixth meeting of the commission established by the Order No 1673 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 05, 2019 “On the implementation of pilot projects in the field of use of renewable energy sources” was held.
Making an opening speech the meeting, the chairman of the commission, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said that the expansion of the use of green energy was defined as one of the five priority areas by the Order signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on approval of “Azerbaijan 2030: National priorities on socio-economic development”. It was noted that the articles of the agreements on the implementation of the project on the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 230 MW have already been agreed with the Masdar (the United Arab Emirates). It was noted that the implementation of the first pilot project in the field of solar energy at the expense of private investment will make a significant contribution to achieve the objectives set for the development of renewable energy in our country.
Then, the documents on the implementation of the project were discussed and proposals are approved.
Representatives of the Ministries of Energy, Economy, Finance, Justice, Ecology and Natural Resources, Emergency Situations, Committee of Urban Planning and Architecture, Central Bank, "Azerenergy" and "Azerishig" OJSC attended at the video conference.
