Energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Britain was discussed

Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev met with a delegation led by  Bob Blackman, Delegation led by the Head of the Friendship Group with Azerbaijan in the House of Commons of the British Parliament.

At the meeting, friendly relations between the two countries were discussed, and it was emphasized that Britain is one of the main trading partners of Azerbaijan and one of the countries investing the most in projects in our country. The importance of cooperation in the field of energy and the activity of bp as one of the reliable partners of Azerbaijan in the energy sector was noted. It was stated that the project of a 240 MW solar power plant to be built by the company in Jabrayil district will contribute to the development of these territories as a green energy zone.

During the conversation, the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe in the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor and natural gas supply was also mentioned. Opportunities for cooperation in offshore wind energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, reduction of carbon emissions and other areas were reviewed, views were exchanged on the next meeting of the Azerbaijan-British Intergovernmental Commission to be held in Baku this year.
