The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan received  a letter of response on the provocations committed by Armenia from co-chair of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Italy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano.

In the letter, it's noted that the Italian government has been watching the events with concern since the beginning of violent clashes along the contact line since September 27 of the current year and strictly condemned the attacks and ballistic missile strikes to the Azerbaijani territory, in particular against the settlements in Ganja and expressed its condolences for the death of civilians.

At the same time, it was noted in the letter that the “status quo” cannot be sustainable and co-chairs need to restart the negotiations more reliably, and it is understandable that the fruitless negotiations for more than two decades worry the Azerbaijani side, and the peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is supported within the framework of territorial integrity and inviolability of the international borders of Azerbaijan as enshrined in the relevant UN and OSCE documents and resolutions.

It should be reminded that the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental commissions between the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant countries had been informed about the recent provocations of Armenia against Azerbaijan, which were co-chaired by the Minister of Energy killing and injuring of civilians as a result of shelling of settlements with heavy artillery and missile systems by the Armenian armed forces and also targeting strategically important energy infrastructure facilities.
