In April 2020, daily oil production in Azerbaijan amounted to 771.4 thousand barrels, including 679.8 thousand barrels’ crude oil and 91.6 thousand barrels’ condensate. Daily export of crude oil constituted 640.3 thousand barrels, while export of condensate and oil products accounted for 86 thousand and 23.6 thousand barrels respectively.
It should be noted that OPEC and non-OPEC countries represented in the “OPEC plus” format, including Azerbaijan, were exempted from production restriction obligations in April.
Azerbaijan joined the "Declaration of Cooperation" adopted as a result of the Ministerial Meetings of "OPEC plus" countries held on April 9 and 12, 2020, which envisages the production restriction of daily crude oil by 9.7 mln. barrels in May-June, 7.7 mln. barrels in July-December, 5.8 mln from January 2021 to April 2022 .  
Azerbaijan, where oil production amounted to 718 thousand barrels of crude oil per day in October 2018, must reduce the oil production in May-June by 164 thousand barrels within the new agreement. During this time, Azerbaijan should maintain the daily crude oil production at 554 thousand barrels.
Azerbaijan`s commitments were defined as to reduce the oil production in July-December by 131 thousand barrels, and in 2021 and April 2022 by 98 thousand barrels. Azerbaijan should maintain daily crude oil production at 587 thousand barrels from July 1 to December, 620 thousand barrels from January 2021 to April 2022 in accordance with the quotas.
Measures have been being taken to reduce daily production at the Azeri-Chirag-Depwater-Gunashli, at the Azneft Production Union, joint ventures and operating companies since May 1.
