Deputy Energy Minister attended the International Ayder Forum
Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov participated in the International Ayder Forum on Energy, Global Security, and Diplomacy in Rize, Türkiye.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the Deputy Minister spoke about the contribution of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye strategic alliance, formed by the far-sighted and determined leadership of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, to regional security and sustainable development, and multilateral cooperation in the field of energy. He spoke about the activities of working groups operating in various fields within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum and the Forum in the further development of cooperation in the field of energy, as well as the successful policy implemented with the brotherly country in the direction of green energy corridors. It was noted that the Igdir–Nakhchivan gas pipeline not only ensures the direct supply of natural gas to Nakhchivan from Türkiye via a land route, but also enables reverse flow due to its increased transmission capacity. It was stated that this project not only strengthens Nakhchivan’s energy supply, but also lays the foundation for future infrastructure synchronization within the perspective of the Zangezur Corridor.
In the speech, he touched upon the targets for the transfer of green energy from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Nakhchivan, and from there to Türkiye and Europe, the opportunities for the creation of green energy export infrastructures that will ensure the delivery of electricity to Türkiye and from there to Europe through Georgia along with Nakhchivan. Information was provided on Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Bulgaria Green Energy Corridor project. The participation of Turkish companies in the development of Karabakh and East Zangezur as a green energy zone, the importance of studying Turkish experience in the fields of renewable energy, energy storage systems, green hydrogen, carbon capture technologies, energy efficiency, market relations in energy and regulation were emphasized. It was noted that the implemented and future-oriented energy projects serve not only the well-being of the two fraternal countries, but also the strengthening of stability in the region, ensuring energy security and further development of international cooperation.
