An event dedicated to Victory Day was held at the Ministry of Energy

An event titled from Victory to Dawn dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Victory Day - 8 November was held at the Ministry of Energy.

First, the memory of the heroic sons of the motherland who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stressed that the complete restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the reconstruction of the geopolitical architecture of the region against the backdrop of the great political victories achieved are a great achievement of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was stated that the unparalleled outcomes of the 44-day Patriotic War and the 23-hour anti-terror operation represent the triumph of the unity and determination of the Azerbaijani people, as well as an extraordinary chronicle of heroism written by our brave soldiers. The speech emphasized the historical significance of 8 November - Victory Day - which immortalizes our victory. It was noted that Azerbaijan is the first country in the post-Soviet space to put an end to separatism. The fact that the Azerbaijani Army restored full control over Karabakh in just one day was described as an unprecedented event in the history of the region.

Noting that the glorious victory strengthened the international authority of Azerbaijan, the Minister brought to the attention that thanks to this historic victory, our country has been confirmed as a leader in the South Caucasus, and has become the main pillar of peace and stability in the region. It was mentioned that the historic agreement reached on 8 August in Washington - with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump - on the initialing of the peace treaty and the opening of the Zangezur Corridor, followed by the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and the repeal of Amendment 907, is a vivid manifestation of the strategic advantages bestowed upon our country by this magnificent Victory. The words of the US President “You are a great leader” addressed to the President of Azerbaijan once again confirmed the authority created by this victory in the international arena at a high level.

The speech also touched upon the development of Karabakh and East Zangazur, noting that smart cities, modern infrastructure projects, and the “green energy zone” concept are being implemented in these territories. It was noted that over 1000 km of high-voltage transmission lines were laid in these regions within five years, substations and Jabrayil Energy Junction were built. 38 hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of 307 MW were commissioned, the foundation of 3 solar power plants with a total capacity of 340 MW was laid. Looking ahead, plans to increase the total capacity of hydropower plants to 500 MW, commission the 140 MW Khudafarin and Giz Galasi stations, and bring solar and wind energy generation capacities into operation will turn this region into an export center through the Jabrayil Energy Hub.

Then a video clip "In the Light of Victory” was shown, which talks about the development path to the development of green energy in the territories liberated from the Victory Day.

The employees of the Ministry also delivered speeches at the event. The employee of the Ministry, a participant in the Patriotic War Tural Safarli spoke and shared his memories about the battles, the heroism of our soldiers who bravely performed heavy combat missions during military operations.
