An event dedicated to the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty was held

In accordance with the Action Plan on the Declaration of 2025 as the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty in the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event titled the Contract of the Century as the Economic Basis of Azerbaijan’s State Independence and a Pillar of the Country’s Economic Sovereignty was held at the Ministry of Energy.

Deputy Minister of Energy Kamal Abbasov emphasized that under the leadership of President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s historic victory has ensured the full restoration of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He described this achievement as the affirmation of the Constitution’s legal force across the entire territory of Azerbaijan and bright triumph of the will of the Azerbaijani people. The declaration of 2025 as the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty was highlighted as a reflection of the high esteem shown for the country’s supreme law and the dear memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence.

Speakers at the event touched upon the foundations of the Constitution and its role in the establishment of a legal state, drawing attention to its importance in ensuring the rule of law and advancing civil society. It was noted that the Constitution, adopted under the wise leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid the political and legal foundation of the independent Azerbaijani state. The event also addressed the significance of the Contract of the Century, signed in 1994, in securing Azerbaijan’s economic independence. It was emphasized that this agreement remains a cornerstone of the country’s political, economic, and strategic achievements, continuing to contribute to Azerbaijan’s development today.
