Vienna hosts meeting of energy ministers of the Azerbaijan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, Energy Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Vienna within OPEC event.

At the meeting with the Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, the OPEC+ format, as well as the issues of energy cooperation in a bilateral framework were discussed. The 4th Meeting of the Joint Technical Commission, scheduled for this year, was touched upon. The potential of cooperation between Saudi companies and SOCAR in the hydrocarbon sector was considered.

During the conversation, the state of implementation of projects within the framework of the green energy partnership was also assessed. The sides exchanged views on the issues related to the commissioning of the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in the fourth quarter of the year, as well as the implementation of 3.5 GW wind energy and other renewable energy projects in the Caspian Sea with the joint participation of SOCAR Green, ACWA Power and Masdar. The next steps towards the development of these projects were determined.
