Azerbaijan was represented by Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov at Uzbekistan Energy Week, held in Tashkent under the theme Partnership for Sustainable Development. Deputy Minister took part in the opening ceremony and the Ministerial Dialogue titled System Reliability and Expanding Cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister highlighted Azerbaijan’s initiatives in energy transition and global cooperation, especially as the host country of COP29. He emphasized that Azerbaijan, as a reliable natural gas supplier and a country with significant green energy potential, will continue contributing to Europe’s energy security and decarbonization goals. The strategic importance of green energy projects planned in the Caspian Sea and the green energy corridors was underlined, as was Azerbaijan’s role in addressing the energy trilemma: accessibility, security of supply, and the development of renewables.

The plenary session focused on the strategy of regional cooperation in the field of the common energy market, the establishment of a favorable business environment for the formation of a modern energy market, the implementation of the strategy of transition to a green economy and other topics.

During the visit, the sides also exchanged views on energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and the development of the Central Asia–Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor.
