Within the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit, meetings were hold between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil of Iraq Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, Minister of Energy of Syria Mohammed al-Bashir and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Dahir Shire Mohamed.

In the meeting with Turkish Energy Minister Bayraktar, both sides expressed satisfaction with the broad and systematic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye across the oil and gas, electricity, and renewable energy sectors.  They emphasised the importance of transferring 250 MW of electricity to Türkiye via Georgia.   "The progress of the Green Energy Corridor involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Bulgaria, along with other joint energy projects were reviewed.

It was discussed to hold the Azerbaijan-Türkiye 4th Energy Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Izmir, Türkiye in September of this year, and the Turkish minister was agreed to participate in the “Baku Energy Week in June.

At the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil of Iraq Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, it was emphasized that the historical ties between the two countries laid the foundation for the development of cooperation in the field of energy. They exchanged views on current oil market regulation under the OPEC+ format. "The importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Oil of the Republic of Iraq on Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Sector was underlined. Priority projects to advance bilateral energy ties were also discussed.

Shahbazov also hold talks with Somali Minister Dahir Shire Mohamed, focusing on the implementation of memoranda of understanding in the areas of green energy and oil and gas. Discussions included training specialists in the petroleum sector and exploring potential new areas for cooperation.

During the summit, Shahbazov met with Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad Al-Bashir. The two sides evaluated opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in the energy field.
