Within the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 3rd Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, a meeting was held between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Erik Jacobs, Senior Advisor of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources .

During the meeting, the sides talked about the contribution of the Azerbaijan-US Energy Partnership to the implementation of energy security projects of regional and international importance, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and the Southern Gas Corridor. The prospects for the development of this cooperation in the field of energy in terms of modern realities and diversification of Azerbaijan's energy supply with natural gas and renewable energy projects were assessed. It was noted that there has been a significant increase in gas supplies to Europe in recent years, however, the demand for additional volumes and sustainable energy security necessitate investments in the natural gas sector, including infrastructure. It was noted that there is a need for new approaches in line with new realities.

At the meeting, the increasing role of electricity and interconnectors was also touched upon, and in this regard, information was provided about Azerbaijan's rich green energy resources, various energy corridor projects initiated and participated by Azerbaijan. The sides talked about the benefits that these corridors will bring to energy security and well-being of countries by providing energy relations between Azerbaijan, Central Asia, Türkiye and Europe.

The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and bilateral cooperation issues.
