Electricity was generated from renewable energy sources with an increase of 96.4 million kWh

According to operational data for January 2025, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2493.4 million kWh last month.

During the month, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 2224.9 million kWh, at HPPs to 218.3 million kWh, and on other sources to 50.2 million kWh. During this period, 2.9 million kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 26.4 million kWh at SPPs, and 20.9 million kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

Compared to the same period last year, electricity generation from renewable energy sources, including hydropower plants, increased by 96.4 million kWh.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 2232.6 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (2021.6 mln kWh at TPPs, 211.0 mln kWh at HPPs), 32.0 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (22.4 mln kWh at TPPs, 6.4 mln kWh at HPPs, 3.2 mln kWh at SPP), 2.0 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 226.8 mln kWh on Independent PPs.

During this period, electricity exports were 157.4 mln kWh while imports were 11.2 mln kWh.
