The next meeting of the Working Group on the green energy zone was held

The next meeting of the Working Group on green energy space, established in order to ensure the implementation of the measures provided for in the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026, was held in hybrid form.

Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev, who chairs the meeting, drew attention to the projects implemented in the framework of the implementation of the strategy in the "Green World Solidarity Year” and spoke about the important achievements gained. The contributions of the work carried out under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the sustainable development of our country in the direction of expanding the use of renewable energy sources, increasing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions were emphasized.

Deputy Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Anlysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramil Huseyn presented a Preliminary Assessment report on the results of the monitoring carried out in 2024 within the strategy implementation. The participants were informed about the implementation indicators of the measures implemented by the relevant authorities for the purpose of green energy space, the measures implemented in the field of investigation of offshore wind power potential, establishment of Information System on renewable energy sources, application of energy storage systems and carbon capture technology, ensuring energy efficiency in various fields, building infrastructure for reliable integration of new generating capacities into the energy system, creating a national database on climate change and other areas.

Then the reports of other group members on the initial report project were heard, the goals, steps to be taken, challenges and recommendations related to the effective implementation of the measures under the strategy document in the current year were reviewed.

In addition to the Ministry of Energy and CAERC, the Green Energy Space Working Group included representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Ecology and Natural Resources, Agriculture, Digital Development and Transport, Finance, Emergency Situations, State Statistics Committee, State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee, State Customs Committee, SOCAR, Central Bank, Azerbaijan Investment Holding, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Azersu, Agency of Melioration and Water Management, Azerenergy, Azerishig, Azeristiliktehizat OJSCs.
